The month begins with the Waning Fertile Moon  3rd Quarter but there are no perfect days to plant root crops! So wait till later in the month.

8th Oct New Moon in Libra at 5.44am

Rest and do nothing. Chat to other gardeners and get some ideas.

 9th – 10th and 14th Oct Waxing Fertile 1st Quarter

Perfect for all planting, especially leafy type vegetables.

15th and 19th – 20th Oct Waxing Fertile 2nd Quarter

Perfect for all planting, especially fruity type vegetables.

23rd Oct Full Moon in Aries at 12.36pm

Official gardeners rest day so go for a walk and get ideas from other gardens

25th and 28th Oct Waning Fertile Moon 3rd Quarter

This is the perfect time to plant root crops.


S.A. subtract ½ hour. QLD subtract 1hr in summer. W.A Subtract 2 hours.

N.T subtract ½ hr in winter and 1.5 hours in summer. In N. Z add 2 hours
