Gardening Dead Ends – Moon gardening will help!

Pruning can get us into trouble. Have you ever cut back a bush or tree and been left with branches where the last few centimeters are dead? It’s unsightly and can also cause rot later on.

Pruning is best done at a fertile time where the plant can “heal” the wound. If you want to reduce growth, as in hedges or in lawns, then prune at a waning fertile time. If you want to encourage lush growth for bushes and especially roses at the moment, then prune at a waxing fertile time.
